Chapter 1
"I don't like you, I never did. I wish all the time that we weren't twins, wish we didn't have to share the same face. Everybody knows I'm prettier anyway."
Sabrina Jensen was reminded of those words every day, her twin sister, Melody, had disowned her after she'd become popular in highschool while Sabrina had remained loyal to all her old friends.
"Miss Jensen are you listening to me?" the professor asked her.
"Yeah, sorry." Sabrina mentally shook her head to wake up.
"Pay attention, this is very important material we're covering today. It will be on the final."
Sabrina rolled her eyes when he turned back to the board and continued droning on.
She still asked herself why she was going to school. She didn't need it, she already had a good paying job with all the benefits. She only agreed to go to college for her mothers sake. She wanted to have at least one child who completed school. So here she sat, bored out of her mind.
Sabrina's passion was dance. She was already fulfilling her life long dream of becoming a choreographer. She already was a choreographer, but the other part of her dream was to have her own business.
Sighing, she couldn't wait to get out of there. She'd been going insane all day, tonight was Friday, the night she got to unwind and dance all night long. Sabrina was a permanent fixture on the dance floor at Strange Dream, an all night club featuring only techno music. The only remixes allowed were remixes of songs already out on the techno market. One of her favorites was Andy Hunter, he wasn't very well known, but he was talented.
A half an hour later, Sabrina was finally free. She stopped at work for a few hours so she could work on a routine for a local dance team. She wanted to go on to bigger and better things, like doing videos, or tours. She knew all she had to do was keep working at it. After all, her boss was none other than Wade Robson. He didn't think she was ready to work with anything big yet. He kept telling her to work at it and it would come.
So here she was, working with a group of high school girls on a dance routine that hopefully would win them the local and state competitions. Her style was unique, she used a lot of moves from all types of music and genres.
"You're doing really good ladies, keep practicing." Sabrina encouraged the girls after practice was over.
"Thanks Sabrina." they smiled at her.
After they'd left, Sabrina turned up her music and started dancing. She was about to lose control when she heard the door open. She turned around and saw Wade standing there.
"Hey bossman." Sabrina smiled.
"Sabrina, you know I hate when you call me that." Wade rolled his eyes.
"Yep." Sabrina nodded.
"I saw you with the girls earlier, that routine is amazing. I think you're almost ready for something professional. Are you still going out tonight?" Wade asked, knowing of her tradition.
"Of course." Sabrina said stretching.
"I'll probably see you there then, me and a bunch of my friends are going out tonight."
"Wow, Wade is actually going out?" Sabrina let out a fake gasp.
"Shut up. Anyway, I'll see you later."
Sabrina watched him walk out of the room and shook her head, she finished her stretching then grabbed her stuff and headed home.
"Honey, I'm home." Sabrina called as she walked inside.
Shelby laughed when her dog, Pumpkin, came bounding out and started jumping up on her. "Hey mama." she said calling her by her nickname.
Pumpkin was a Pekanese dog that she'd had since she was a puppy. Her parents had gotten her for Sabrina's birthday last year as they knew how much she loved pets and longed to have one of her own.
She put Pumpkin on her leash and let her outside before going upstairs to take a shower. After her shower, she got ready to go out, then called her friend Amber whom she'd always went with.
"You ready?" Amber asked as soon as she picked up.
"Of course." Sabrina nodded.
"You know I can't see you nod," Amber snickered.
"Then how do you know I nodded."
"Never mind. Anyway, are you coming to pick me up?" Amber asked.
"Yeah, I should be there in a few minutes."
"Alright, see ya when you get here."
Sabrina hung up the phone and went to pick up Amber.

"Are we still going out tonight?" Joey asked Wade while they sat at the restaurant eating.
"Of course," Wade answered.
"Sweet." Joey said bouncing his head a few times.
"What's sweet?" Lance asked piping up.
"We're going out tonight." Joey answered.
"That's not a new occurance Joe." Lance shook his head.
"It'll be somethin different because all of us haven't been out together since we first took our break." Joey reminded him.
"Yeah Lance, geez." Justin smirked.
"Whatever." Lance huffed.
"Thats right Lance," Joey smacked him upside the head.
"Let's go. I wanna party!" Justin said getting hyper.
The guys went to a club they'd never been too before called Strange Dream. They found a table and set all their stuff down and ordered drinks.
Joey didn't wait for his drink, he made his way out onto the dance floor and saw someone dancing he thought looked familiar. He watched her dancing to the music as if it was a part of her. Her friend was dancing with her and they both made a sight. He finally caught a glimpse of her face and his face turned to scowl when he saw who it was.
"Melody!" he yelled over the music.
He rolled his eyes when she didn't hear him. He tapped her on the shoulder and waited for her to turn around.
"Can I help you?" Sabrina turned around and saw Joey standing there.
"What are you doing here?" he asked.
"Dancing," she said dancing around him.
"Dancing, I never would have guessed." Joey murmured to himself.
Sabrina looked at the man who'd interrupted her with confusion in her eyes. He oddly looked familiar and he seemed to know her. She rolled her eyes when she realized she was probably mistaken for Melody yet again. Someday people would know who she was.
She wasn't going to let anything stop her from having her good time so she just closed her eyes and let the music flow over her again.
Joey couldn't believe that she'd just blew him off. He decided to just ignore it and started dancing with her and her friend. They were such good dancers, as if they had been doing this their whole lives.
What he didn't know was that they had been doing this their whole lives, Sabrina's mother said she'd come out of the womb dancing. Nobody cared about her dancing ability though, because she was never good enough, unlike her sister who did everything perfect.
Sabrina realized that Joey was still out there and that he was dancing with them. She fixed her attention on dancing with him when she heard Kelly Osbourne's dance song "One Word" come on.
One word breaks the code of silence,
Silence tells me all I need to know.
One Word,
One Word, tells me everything I need to know.
One word driven in to madness,
Madness driven by the depths below.
One Word,
One Word, tells me everything I need to know
She danced around him and with him, and even against him at times, singing the words while she danced. Singing helped her get into it more, she really let the music take over her body, she was very expressive with the lyrics and she pointed at Joey at times, and other times she was dancing against him.
It's not the way that I want it,
It's just the way that I need it.
Day after day
It's not the way that I want it,
It's just the way that I need it.
Day after day
One lie tells a thousand stories,
The greatest stories that were ever told.
One Lie,
One Lie, tells the greatest stories ever told.
Joey couldn't believe what was happening. He'd never been a part of something so intense. This girl dancing in front of him, his ex-girlfriend Melody, was dancing like she'd known what to do her whole life. Every other time they'd went to a club, she never danced. Said she hated dancing, didn't like all the people rubbing up against her from every direction, but this was unbelievable, she was not only dancing, but she was doing so with such passion.
One man can predict the future,
a future journey in to outer space.
One Man,
One Man, a future journey in to outer space.
At the end of the song, Sabrina had to get a drink or she was going to dehydrate. She left the dance floor and went to the bar.
"Hey Sabrina, how are you tonight?" Adam, the bartender, greeted her.
"Hey Adam, I'm good. Feeling a little parched, got a water for me?" Sabrina smiled.
"You were really good out there." Joey said sitting beside her.
Sabrina fought the urge to roll her eyes, but looked at him and shrugged.
"I've been dancing my whole life." she answered.
"I thought you hated dancing." Joey studied her in confusion.
Sabrina grabbed the bottle of water off the bar and walked away from him. She didn't want to answer, she didn't want to have to explain that she was not Melody, and why nobody ever knew about her. Tonight was her night to get away from all her shit, not to add to it.
Joey watched her walk away and sighed, something was different about her.
"Joey, was that Hells Mells?" Justin asked looking the way that she came.
Hells Mells was a nickname she'd been given after they'd found out what a bitch she was. None of the guys liked her and they'd tried to convince Joey to dump her after their second date, but Joey was blinded. It wasn't until he'd caught her with someone else that he finally realized he was just with him because of his status and who he was. She never cared about him, just his name.
"Yeah." Joey sighed.
"She looks different." Justin said studying her.
"She's acting different too. Shes an amazing dancer, and when I reminded her how she didnt like dancing, she just walked away." Joey shrugged.
"Let's go out there." Justin said leading the way.
Joey followed Justin out onto the dance floor where they went over to Melody who was again lost in the music.
"What is it with him." Amber said for Sabrina's ears alone.
"He thinks I'm Melody." Sabrina shrugged.
"Do you know who they are?" Amber asked when she got a good look at them.
"Nope, and I really don't care." Sabrina shook her head.
"That's Joey and Justin from Nsync. They're coming over here."
"Great, I don't want to deal with this tonight." Sabrina sighed loudly.
"Hey Melody." Justin said reaching her first.
Sabrina refused to say anything and just kept dancing. She could, no she WOULD get through this.
"Hey." she nodded.
"You're a really good dancer." Justin commented.
"Thanks." Sabrina said without missing a beat.
Justin danced with Amber while Joey decided to dance with Sabrina. Sabrina had her arms on his shoulders and was moving her body in rhythym with his. He was an amazing dancer Sabrina thought, he put just the right amount of effort into it, but wasnt all over the place. He had his hands on her waist and was matching her pace.
Sabrina took a moment to study Joey and decided her sister had done right by picking this man, he was good looking, and seemed to have eyes that could see into the soul. She sighed when she realized Melody had probably just tossed him to the side without any thought.
An hour later, Joey and Sabrina got along as they were forever friends. She rarely said anything, but danced everything she needed to convey. She didn't dare say much as she figured she'd tell the truth and then there would be the long explanation, and then the disappointment of watching him walk away.
"Amber, we need to get going." Sabrina told her over the music.
"Why? We always close the place up." Amber answered.
"I have to be to work tomorrow." she said hoping Amber didn't see thru the lie.
"You realize that I can just go over there and ask Wade if you work tomorrow right." Amber said pointing to Wade who was dancing a few people over.
"I didn't know he was here." Sabrina said watching him.
"What are you going to do?" Amber asked seeing the evil gaze in her eyes.
"Oh nothing." she said.
Sabrina walked up behind Wade jumped up on his back.
Wade pulled her off him and shook his head. "Hey sweetums. Did you know you're talking to your sisters ex over there?"
Sabrina sighed and nodded. "He thinks I'm her."
"I figured. What are you going to do about that?" Wade asked her.
"Nothing. I'm never going to see him again." Sabrina shook her head.
"Sabrina, just tell him."
"I don't want to go into the embarassing speech about how my sister wants nothing to do with me and that nobody knows she has a twin. I can't handle it any more."
"I'm sorry hun." Wade said sympathetically.
"Yeah well, I think I'm going to go home."
"That's not right, you always stay and close the place."
"I know, but I can't do it."
"Well ignore him."
"I can't, he keeps close and I end up dancing with him. Amber's smitten with Justin already and I'm afraid she's going to say something too." Sabrina sighed and realized her worst fears had come true. Her life had followed her to her escape.
"I'm sorry."
"I need a drink." Sabrina said.
"No. You will not drink. You don't drink and I won't let you." Wade said stopping her.
"Yeah, you're right i suppose." Sabrina sighed.
"Why don't you just go home, I'll see that Amber gets home." Wade suggested.
"Thanks Wade." Sabrina nodded.
She went found Amber and told her she was leaving and Wade would give her a ride home. She was almost gone without a problem, but just as she made it outside, Joey's voice stopped her.
"Melody wait!" he said catching up to her.
"What do you want?" she turned to look at him.
He had the most beautiful chocolate brown eyes she'd ever seen. They were big and a window into his soul that she could easily find herself lost in.
"Do you need a ride or anything?" he asked.
"No, I drove, but thanks." Sabrina said turning back to leave.
"Wait!" Joey called again.
"What?" she said facing him again.
"Can I call you?" he asked.
"I don't think that would be wise." Sabrina said wishing he'd just met her and she could give him her number. She silently cursed her sister for doing this to her.
"Why not? I had a lot of fun tonight."
"I can't." she sighed.
"What's wrong Mel? You've been different all night." Joey asked her softly caressing her cheek.
Sabrina did everything in her power to pull away from his touch, "I have to go."
Sabrina turned around and walked to her car. She sighed and still felt Joey's touch lingering on her face. She touched the tingling spot on her face and sighed. Why couldn't she just love him herself. Why did she have to know her sister.
