Entering the airport, I walked over to a bench by a window and sat down,
looking out at the sky. I could see the snow flurries coming down covering
the ground in a white blanket. It was then I realized how bad the storm was.
I only prayed that Justin and the kids were okay.
“All flights are grounded till the storm passes,” a teenager told
her parents as they waited nearby.
Hearing the girl, I turned my attention to her and her family. “Excuse
me,” I said, standing up and walking over to them. “Did you just
say ALL the flights have been grounded?”
The teenager nodded. “That’s what the ticket agent told me.”
She cocked her head with a smile on her lips. “Hey, aren’t you…”
I rolled my eyes discreetly. “Yeah I am.”
She looked around becoming excited. “Is Justin here? Are your kids here?
They are sooo cute!”
I gave her a small smile. “Thank you.” I looked around. “They’re
around here somewhere. I hope. I need to go look for them. Thanks for your
help.” I walked away, pulling out my cell phone. I dialed Justin’s
number and waited anxiously for him to pick up.
“Sam?” said Justin, his voice sounded flustered. “Our flight
has been grounded due to the storm.”
“I know. I’m here in the airport. The roads are all block, I can’t
get home. Are the boys okay?”
“Yeah they’re fine. Are you okay?”
“I fine. Where are you?”
“I’m here at the airport.”
I rolled my eyes and scanned around me as I walked. “I know, but WHERE?”
“I’m in Martha’s Kay office, she’s assistant manager
of the airport. She’s letting me and the kids stay in her office till
the storm passes.”
“That’s nice of her.”
“Yeah, well, I really had no choice in the matter. I got recognized.”
Again I rolled my eyes. “Why am I not surprised?”
“What I’m a loved kind of guy!” He exclaimed.
“Yeah, and that’s only because your fans don’t know what
a cheating bastard you are.”
“Sam-”
“I don’t want to hear it right now. I just want to see my kids.
How can I get to you?”
There was a moment of silence on his end of the line, and then he said, “Ms.
Kay is sending down her assistant Tim to get you.”
“Okay, I’m by the North entrance. I’ll see you in a few.”
I hung up my cell phone and waited.
