Forbidden Love
Chapter 1

It was the first day of autumn, but you’d never know it, the sun was blazing down as only the LA sun can. I walked out into the front yard, and stood there with my arms folded, watching my Dad tell the movers where to put everything. Never in my dreams did I think I would move to California. I never pictured myself a Californian, I was a Texan. But that’s besides the fact. This move was devastating to me, this move couldn’t have come in the worst time in my teenage life but my parents told me I would get over it but I haven’t.

My Dad walked up to me and said, “You’re going to love LA.”

“Yeah whatever.” I rolled my eyes.

“Adrienne” he put one arm around my shoulders and gestured around with the other “look around you.”

I looked around. Yes the neighborhood was nice, but I missed my old neighborhood, my high school and my friends. I shook my head and walked back inside and upstairs to my bedroom.

“Where do you think you’re going?”

I stopped in the middle of the staircase and turned and looked down at my Mom, who was standing in the middle of the foyer looking up at me with her hands on her hips. “To my room to unpack my stuff,” I replied.

“I’ll help you unpack your stuff later. I want you to help your sisters unpack in the kitchen.” I rolled my eyes and turned on my heels and walked back down the stairs. “With less attitude please.” I flashed a fake smile at my Mom as I walked passed her to the kitchen, where my six sisters were talking and laughing while they unpacked the stuff in the kitchen.

Amber and her twin sister Alex looked up from what they were doing. “Where have you been, Casper?” Amber asked, using my nickname.

“Around,” I said walking over to the kitchen counter.

“Around huh?” said Ashley. She smiled and glanced at her twin sister April. “Have you seen our neighbor?”

“No why?” I asked curiously.

My sisters all laughed and April spoke up and said, “Go to backyard and see for yourself. Try and not to get caught like your sisters Allison and Annie almost did.” Everyone giggled and I gave my sisters a weird half smile and walked out to the backyard.

Everyone looked at one another and Amber asked, “Do you think she’ll freak?”

“Oooh yeah,” said Ashley with a small laugh. “If this doesn’t make her forget about moving then I don’t know what will.”

I walked back into the kitchen with a smile spread across my lips. “Was that…?” My sisters looked at me and giggled.
