All I Want for Christmas Is You
Chapter Twelve: Do You Believe in Santa

I looked around and tip toed to the double doors leading to Mrs. Cynthia’s office. I pressed my ear against the door to listen to Mrs. Cynthia’s and JC’s voice.

“....I really appreciate your kindness, JC. These girls deserve everything good that comes their way. They are, after all, just innocent children who have been dealt a rough hand.”

“Yes they have. I talked to Justin briefly outside and he’s all for giving the girls a real Christmas.”

“Thank you both. Just tell me what do you need me to do?”

“If you could have the girls make a list of what they want that would helps us.”

“I can do that. Do you want to keep this a secret or do you want the girls to know that these gifts are coming from you and Justin?”

“Do the girls still believe in Santa?”

“The younger ones still live with Santa Claus in their minds and I try my best to preserve that belief but it’s getting tougher every year because Santa never brings what the girls want. They don’t ask for much, but I have to pay for their gifts out of my own pocket and it gets costly.”

“Well you are not going to have to worry about that this year. These girls are going to get what they want. Now with Amanda and Veronica I don’t want to leave them out. I know they are older, but they deserve to get presents too.”

“That’s going to be a toughie. They don’t believe in Santa.”

“This year they will.”

“Since Veronica and Amanda are older they are more into clothes and fashion.”

“That’s fine. Justin and I know a lot of people in the fashion industry.”

I pulled myself away from the door, feeling someone tug on my shirt. I turned and saw Emily. “What do you want?”

“What are you doing?” she asked.

“Nothing.”

“It doesn’t look like nothing.”

I smiled at her. “You are just too cute, you know that?” Emily smiled. “Come on let’s go raid the cook jar.” I took her hand and we walked to the kitchen.
