All I Want for Christmas Is You
Chapter Eleven: A Real Christmas

Justin stepped out of his car and shut the door, locking it behind him. He walked around to the sidewalk where he glanced back and saw JC pull up. He made a confused face wondering what he was doing there.

JC stepped out of his car and shut the door, locking it behind him. He walked around to the sidewalk where he saw Justin for the first time. He gave him a weird look. “What are you doing here?”

“What am I doing here? I have a date. What are you doing here?”

He nodded. “Oh, right. You have a date.” He paused for a moment, and then said, “Wait. You have a date? With who? Cynthia?”

“No Veronica.”

“You guys are going out?”

“Have been the whole week.”

JC laughed softly. “Are you serious?”

“Yeah.”

“Huh,” he said a little surprised. “Explains why I haven’t been able to get a hold of you. How old is she again?”

“18. She’s legal,” Justin joked. JC laughed. “Why are you here?”

“I have a meeting Cynthia. I’ve been trying to get a hold of you and tell you that I think we should do something special for these girls for Christmas. Cynthia told me these girls just get one small gift every Christmas and that’s all. The girls never complain, but Cynthia always wishes she could do more. She always asks for donations around the holidays for the girls, but they never come through because it a small private orphanage and the donations usually go to the bigger orphanages. So I’m thinking we could give these girls a REAL Christmas. They don’t have much and you and I have so much.”

Justin smiled, nodding. “I’m all for it. They are so sweet, and they definitely deserve a real Christmas.”

JC smiled, and they walked up to the door. “I’ll talk to Cynthia maybe she can have the girls make a list of what they want for Christmas.”

“That will work.” Justin rang the door bell. “I’m sure my mom would be happy to help us out with the shopping.” JC nodded.

The door opened and Veronica and I stood there in the doorway. My eyes immediately went to JC and I panicked and slammed the door.

“AMANDA!” shouted Veronica with laughter in her voice. She watched me run to the living room and hide. “Amanda, you’re pathetic!”

“Shut up!” I shouted back. “He can hear you!”

“Good!” Laughing, Veronica opened the door and saw JC and Justin laughing. “I’m sorry,” she apologized. “My friend is an IDIOT. You guys can come in.”

JC followed Justin inside. He calmed his laughter. “I’m beginning to think Amanda doesn’t like me.”

Veronica looked at JC. She smiled at him. “You don’t need to worry about her not liking you. She’s likes you, she likes A LOT. So much in fact you make her a nervous wreck when you’re around. It’s pretty funny to watch. OKAY,” she said in a perky tone. “Justin, we can leave now.”

He laughed. “That’s it? You just told JC your friend is completely in love with him and you’re going to leave like that?”

She smiled at him. “No you just did. I just said she liked him.”

He looked at Veronica, shocked. “We’re leaving.” He grabbed her hand and pulled her out the door.
